How to Prevent Your Smartphone Screen From Breaking

410

In the age of technology, cracked screens and smartphones go together like peanut butter and jelly. As of April 2021, Americans spent nearly four billion dollars on cell phone repairs.

If you’re an iPhone user, you know that a cracked phone screen is one of the biggest iPhone issues since they utilize a full glass touch screen display.

Cracking your screen can be an inconvenience both financially and for business purposes if you rely on your phone for work. By investing a small amount in protecting your screen now, you could avoid replacing it later.

Below I’ve outlined some of the best methods of phone protection to prevent a cracked screen from happening in the first place.

A Quality Phone Case Protects You From A Cracked Phone Screen

A phone case is your screen’s first line of defense. Having a reliable, shock-absorbing case is one of the easiest ways to protect your phone against one of the most common iPhone problems – a cracked screen.

If you’ve ever shopped for a new case after an iPhone repair, you may have seen the salesperson throw their phone across the room to show you just how reliable the case is.

A good phone case should protect your phone from fumbles at any height or angle. Some quality cases can even withstand the impact of being driven over by a car or dropped from a high-up balcony.

Though cases have come a long way in design, style, and levels of protection, they can be a tad bulky. This may not be ideal for people who desire a sleek phone case.

Nano Liquid Glass Screen Protector

Nano Liquid is designed to strengthen your phone’s screen, making it inherently more durable and scratch-proof.

It works similarly to the way lotion works to moisturize the skin as glass is porous just the same. Nano-liquid particles are small and penetrate into the phone’s pores, then harden to reinforce the existing glass.

This liquid adds an invisible layer of protection that is thinner than human hair. You can apply nano liquid directly to the surface of your screen or on top of a tempered glass protector to further seal and strengthen the surface.

But bare caution, glass can only be reinforced to an extent with nano-liquid alone, and you could end up needing a phone repair if you aren’t careful.

Tempered Glass Screen Protector

There are many screen protectors on the market, but tempered glass is exceptionally unique. But you might still be wondering how adding another layer of glass can protect your screen.

Tempered glass is made by heating normal glass to extreme temperatures and immediately cooling it down afterward. This reaction causes the glass to be five times stronger than ordinary glass.

Additionally, tempered glass screen protectors are layered with various protective substances such as silicon, nano-coating, and shatter-proof glass.

What’s more, is the added layer of optical polyethylene terephthalate. PET is the same material used in making soda bottles and helps reinforce the screen’s integrity.

It works by absorbing the shock that your screen would normally absorb and adding a layer between the tempered glass and the broken glass. Once broken, you can simply peel it off and replace it.

Tempered glass maybe five times stronger, but it can also be five times thicker than other screen protectors, which isn’t ideal. So after your next screen replacement, try using a combination of all three methods to find what works for you.
